Rev. Craig Duke

Craig was appointed pastor of Hillside in June 1999. Originally from Carmel, Indiana, he graduated from Ball State University in 1982 with an English Major to teach high school. He entered the family retail business soon after his student teaching completion until his call to ordained ministry which occurred in 1983. Craig enrolled at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1984 and graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1988. It was there that he met and married Linda. Together they have one child, Tiffany born in 1998.

Rev. Duke comes from a diverse background of education and experience that have prepared him well for ministry. His leadership at Hillside for the past 9 years has been a style mixed with boldness and creativity. With God’s guidance, he has led this faith community through transition to the fruition of a dream to become a community church.

In addition to his leadership of Hillside, Craig enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family, volunteering at Tiffany’s school, camping ministry with his wife Linda, and strong involvement in the community through the Domestic Violence Task Force. He loves the Chicago Bears football team, his favorite movie is “It’s A Wonderful Life,” and he loves the opportunity to retreat to the outdoors.

Rev. Brian Cook

Rev. Brian Cook has been serving the ministry of Hillside United Methodist Church since 2006. Currrently Brian is the Worship Pastor assisting in all aspects of worship. While serving part-time at Hillside Church, he is also the full-time Director of Campus Ministries for Vincennes University where he serves as Campus Minister. At Vincennes University he ministers to students, faculty, and staff through weekly Bible studies, worship, community building events, service projects, and mission opportunities. We are excited about the ministry relationship between Hillside Church and Vincennes University.

Although originally from Missouri, Brian came to Indiana to attend college at Oakland City University from where he graduated in 1990. In December of 2006, he completed his Master of Divinity degree from Oakland City University. Brian brings with him the diversity that has been Hillside's blessing. His ordination with The General Baptist Church makes it possible for him to take on the duties and responsibilities of a United Methodist pastor while on staff with Hillside. He has been in fulltime minsitry since 1998 serving churches in Missouri and Indiana.

Besides serving Hillside and Campus Ministries at Vincennes University, Brian is involved in Sports Ministry with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. This sports ministry opportunity opens doors for our community ministries as Brian serves local middle & high schools and colleges throughout the Wabash Valley Area.

In his free time he enjoys coaching baseball, following his favorite hockey team, hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. Since 1988, Brian has been married to Michelle and they have one son, Caleb. Together they enjoy the ministry, worship, and servant ministry opportunities available at Hillside.

Brenda Witt

Brenda came to Hillside UMC in December of 1996. She has held the secretarial position and says the best part of it is meeting all the people. Everyone has an interesting story and that makes life very interesting.

Brenda is married to Alann and they have 2 daughters, Tiffany and Andrea and three grandsons, Caleb, Jacob & Chase.

"I feel that God has lead me to lend an ear to help those who need it and for some to just know someone is usually in the church office to lend support if needed" Brenda says. It makes her heart feel good to know that she am able to lend a little support to those who need it.

"God has been great to me and my family and I just want to share His Love with as many as I possibly can". "God is Good, All The Time"

In 2008 I have taken on the role as Chairperson of the Christian Education Committee and look forward to doing what **God's gentle nudge** is trying to accomplish through me.

Julie Goedde

Julie Goedde is the new Hillside Preschool director and lives in Haubstadt with husband, Tom, and their 5 children, four girls and one boy. She has over 13 years of experience in a preschool and daycare setting. Julie earned a Child Development Accreditation and continues her education taking Elementary Education and Child Development classes. She looks forward to a very rewarding experience at Hillside.

Sandy Nixon

Sandy Nixon has been a member of the Methodist church in Princeton for over 25 years. She has been involved with the church choir the entire 25 years, for many years as a member of the soprano section and for the last 3 ½ years as Hillside’s choir director. Sandy derives great satisfaction and joy from leading a choir of over 40 members on a weekly basis. She has come to realize that it was a call from God that led her to volunteer to lead the choir. God truly works in mysterious and wonderful ways! Her husband Steve is a member of the tenor section of the choir, and they have two children and two grandchildren. “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise His name.” (Psalm 96:1-2)

Linda Duke

Linda Duke officially joined our church staff in 2006 but has been at Hillside since June 1999 arriving with her husband Rev. Craig Duke when he was appointed as senior pastor. Originally from Libertyville, Illinois, Linda graduated from Valparaiso University in 1983 and received her Master of Divinity Degree in 1988 from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. Linda brings 20 years of experience in ministry at both the local, district and conference level of the United Methodist Church. Linda and Craig have one daughter, Tiffany. She works closely with the staff to provide the technical support which is necessary for a multi media/multi sensory worship experience.

Linda has gifts in youth ministry and with children. She currently coordinates the senior high youth program on Sunday nights and directs the Friends’ Club elementary program on Wednesday evenings.

A real passion of Linda’s is Christian camping. Since 1989 she has been actively involved with church camp at Santa Claus United Methodist Camp. She directs and co-directs two camps every summer for Elementary age and Senior High youth respectively.
